Mets dominant the Cardinals again

Mets beat the Cardinals 10-0 and completed the sweep of the defending champs who just look awful all around. The Cardinals just look lost offensively and defensively and that bullpen is just bad.

But besides that The Mets looked amazing again, and got another great pitching performance from a starter this time it was John Maine.

John Maine: Maine had his A+ game tonight, you could see the diffrence from a year ago as he spots his pitches down by the knees this year unlike last year when he was always up in the strike zone. Maine pitched 7 innings giving up just 1 run while striking out 6.

Carlos Beltran: Beltran went deep 2ce tonight, and had 4 RBI's the first one off Looper in the 6th inning to break a scoreless tie.

Jose Reyes: Reyes went 2 for 5 with a homerun and 3 RBI tonight, the homerun was Reyes's first of the season.

Shawn Green: Green had a good night going 2 for 4 with an RBI.

Paul LoDuca: Lo Duca had another 3 hits tonight, and is off to a great start.

Moises Alou: Alou went 2 for 3 with a run scored and a great defensive play early on.

Ambriox Burgos: Made his Mets debut tonight and looked very sharp Burgos didn't give up a hit and struck out 1 in his inning of work.

Aaron Sele: Sele made his Mets debut pitched a scoreless inning including a nasty curveball that buckled Pujols.

Overall in the 3 games The Mets scored 20 runs, while the starting pitching combined in the 3 games has given up 2 ER in 20 IP. Whats that a .086 ERA? The bullpen was also solid just giving up 1 run in the 3 games.

John Maine was just amazing tonight I have never seen him look better including the playoffs last year. He just spotted that fastball on the outside corner time after time against these Cardinal hitters.

Braden Looper actually didn't look half bad he was dominant early on but in the 6th it was obvious fatigue settled in which looks to be a major problem for him at least early on in the season.

Around The League

The Braves beat The Phillies
today in extra innings. This game had a terrific pitching match up Hamels took on Tim Hudson, though both pitchers got a no decision in the end.

Hamels: Simply dominant and made these Brave hitters look foolish as he threw 7 scoreless innings while striking out 8. Many people have Cole Hamels as a possible Cy Young award winner in his rookie season.

Hudson: Hudson is looking to revitalize his career, and so far he looks to be on the right path. After a great spring Hudson in his first regular season start looked great as he also threw 7 innings giving up just 1 run while striking out 5.

The Phillies had the lead going into the 9th inning but closer Tom Gordon blew the save by giving up a 2 run homer to Brian McCann. Then in the 11th inning Scott Thorman hit a homerun in the top of the 11th inning that proved to be the game winning shot.

The Nationals came back and beat the Florida Marlins today after x-met Jorge Julio blew the save.

Miguel Cabrera: Hit his second homerun of the season as he went 2 for 3 with an RBI tonight, and he is now hitting .700 on the season

Jorge Julio: Julio blew the save as he came in with a 2 run lead in the 9th inning he only retired 1 batter while giving up 5 hits as he blew his first save of the season.

Keep an eye on it folks, The Marlins, and Phillies bullpen will cost them big this season. Both of these teams are talented but the lack of bullpen is a major hit as both teams will not be able to close out games, which is why I have The Mets winning this division.
