Mets beat the Cardinals 4-1

The Mets again beat the Cardinals for the second straight game, and if you were watching The Cardinals don't match up to The Mets at all..

  • Orlando Hernandez: started the game for The Mets and was amazing. El Duque pitched 7 innings giving up just 1 run, and had a big night with the bat as he went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's.
  • Jose Reyes: was 1 for 4 with 2 runs scored, and his first stolen base of the season.
  • Carlos Beltran: Beltran went 1 for 3 with an RBI and stole his first base of the season.
  • David Wright: Wright went 1 for 2 and showed a good eye at the plate with 2 walks.
  • Scott Schoeneweis: Made his Mets debut today for The Mets. Scott came in for the 8th inning but after giving up a hit and walking a batter was taken out for Aaron Heilman who then got Albert Pujols out to end the inning.
  • Billy Wagner: Wagner made it nice and simple tonight pitched a scoreless inning with no walks and no hits, and got his first save of the season.
~So yeah this starting rotation is just horrible combined 13 innings pitched 2 runs just horrid. And this old lineup they are having a very difficult time getting runs as they only have scored 10 in the 2 games they've played.

John Maine gets the start tomorrow against former Met relief pitcher Braden Looper, and really it's a game The Mets should again dominant. This Mets starting rotation was called horrible all off-season and I know its only 2 games but Glavine, and Duque looked great. Also wow The Cardinals have a really bad starting rotation. Now Chris Carpenter is hurt for them, and the starting rotation now looks like Wells,Looper,Wainright,Reyes, Pray for rain. That starting rotation makes The Mets rotation look untouchable.

Around The League

The Marlins again dominated the Washington Nationals 9 to 3.

Scott Olsen started the game for The Marlins and had some control problems which caused him to only pitch 5.1 innings. Olsen walked 5 and struck out 2 while giving up 2 ER.

Former Met Henry Owens made his debut for The Marlins tonight as he pitched a scoreless inning in relief.

The Braves and Phillies had the day off.
